Born To Tell Stories

When I was about 8 years old, I started writing rap songs. I know that’s a strange way to begin a professional bio, but it’s actually relevant. You see, writing rap lyrics was one of the earliest signs of my love for storytelling.

In my career, I’ve been fortunate enough to tell the stories of amazing people and companies through various channels, using a variety of communication tools. My work has been recognized with Emmy Awards and other prestigious honors.

I started my career at Capitol Broadcasting Company in Raleigh, NC, producing and editing news and promotional video. I also worked as a video news editor and creative services producer, promoting station initiatives and shows using on-air video and digital marketing. During my television career, I received nine Emmy Awards for my contributions to writing, producing, directing, image promotions, and campaign creation.

After my time in television, I became the Director of Communications at American Underground, a startup hub and coworking space, where I led efforts to promote diversity and inclusion in entrepreneurship. One of my proudest achievements was organizing and promoting the nationally recognized Google For Entrepreneurs Exchange for Black Founders.

Today, I serve as the Director of Marketing for CrossComm, a web, mobile, and immersive app development studio. My role involves collaborating with our talented team to create engaging experiences for our clients’ users while driving results and achieving their goals.

My passion for seeing ideas through from start to finish, combined with my expertise in multi-media production, copywriting, project management, strategic planning, and digital marketing, allows me to deliver creative solutions that inspire and captivate audiences. I value inclusivity, creativity, and empathetic problem-solving and strive to infuse these values into everything I do.
